iBienvenidos! Mi nombre es Paulette Nedeau y es un placer poder ser la maestra de Español en St. Pius X School. I am excited to share my language and my culture with you. I am originally from Guatemala, a beautiful country in Central America. I have lived in Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Tennessee, Virginia, and for the past 15 years in Ohio.
I taught ESL and math in 5th grade for 10 years at Colegio Internacional Montessori in Guatemala. I was a preschool teacher at our parish’s preschool - Seton Parish Preschool for 9 years. I love watching kids learn and explore new things.
My husband, Paul, and I have been Pius parents for the past 9 years. Our daughter Victoria is a student at Bishop Hartley High School. We enjoy traveling all over the world and watching our daughter play sports. I love to read mystery novels. I also enjoy running and watching sports, especially volleyball and baseball.
Spanish is one of the fastest growing languages in the world. There are approximately 44 million native speakers in the United States. There are more Spanish speakers in the United States than in Spain, making it second only to Mexico in terms of the Spanish-speaking population. I can’t wait to immerse the children into these world cultures and make them mindful and respectful global citizens.
I started my junior year in high school 3 times. 3 schools, 3 different countries in 3 months.
