Mary Kay Adzima was born and raised in the Chicago area. She attended St. Bernadette School and Evergreen Park Community High School. Mrs. Adzima worked for Northern Illinois University as a graduate assistant teaching Calculus. She also worked as a lab assistant for the University of Illinois, Physical Chemistry using FORTRAN to calculate crystal structure data. After Mrs. Adzima’s marriage and move to Columbus she worked for Chemical Abstract Services as a programmer analyst, designing and programming in Assembler G language and PL/C until she had children. After having two children, she started volunteering at St. Pius which evolved into a non-tax teaching position. As a parent, she helped to establish the Technology Lab. She has been teaching at St. Pius X School for 20 years and is astonished by how fast technology changed over the years. She is amazed that our schools' student technology has moved from the original 12 Radio Shack computers to 20 DOS PCs, to 72 Windows 10 PCs, to 1-1 Chromebooks for student use in all grades. It is very exciting to see students master keyboarding, learn, and apply programs and apps to complete and enhance their classroom work. This year will be one of the most technologically advanced years for St. Pius! Mrs. Adzima and her husband are active members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Pickerington. She has been participating in the Music Liturgy group since the beginning of this parish.
