My name is Emily Thomas, and I am the Kindergarten Bears teacher at St. Pius X School. This is my third year of teaching, but fourth year at SPX. After completing my student teaching in kindergarten in 2018-2019, I joined the panther family as one of the 3rd grade teachers for 2019-2020. I am thrilled to be back in kindergarten!

I started my journey in the diocese as an Immaculate Conception Ram, then became a Bishop Watterson Eagle before becoming an Ohio State Buckeye for life. I enjoy anything art-related, including writing, painting, visiting art museums, attending ballets, and traveling to New York City to see broadway shows. I also enjoy neutral color palettes, cooking, exploring local coffee shops, getting peonies from the farmer’s market, anything with Julie Andrews, watching the Buckeyes beat TTUN, drinking pumpkin coffee in August, and celebrating Christmas in October.

At SPX, I help choreograph for the Jr. High Musical and coach K-2 cheerleading. Kindergarten is an incredibly special time for students, families, and teachers. It is so special to watch each young learner grow into their unique gifts and talents. With planted seeds of faith, empathy, and creativity, these young learners will undoubtedly make positive change in our world! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey!
