Karen Smith is in her 12th year teaching music at SPX. Not only does she love providing K-8 with fun weekly general music classes, she also enjoys providing lots of music extracurriculars like choir, drama club and a Jr. High spring musical.

Mrs. Smith is a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School and St. Paul Elementary. She feels very lucky to work in the Diocese of Columbus where Catholic schools were a huge part of her faith and education growing up.

Mrs. Smith and her husband, Mike, have 4 children with their oldest being a first grader at SPX. The Smith family are parishioners at St. Matthew Parish in Gahanna where they enjoy ringing with the bell choir. Mrs. Smith enjoys singing, playing the piano and various other instruments, going to see musicals, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
