Lisa Ruth is beginning her 34st year in Catholic education. Lisa graduated from Ohio Dominican College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She spent 14 years teaching 2nd grade at St. Matthew School before she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Miami University. While becoming a licensed intervention specialist, she became the Intervention Coordinator at St. Matthew. She spent an additional 13 years educating students with special needs while improving the programs and supports for these students. In addition to her teaching and administrative duties, Lisa was a Resident Educator Mentor and Facilitator, as well as an advisor for Beta Club, Drama Club, and Yearbook. Lisa also served on numerous committees and led many service projects during her 27 years at St. Matthew.
This year, Lisa will begin her 3rd year in the role of principal of St. Pius X School after serving four years as the assistant principal. She is a member of Resurrection Parish in New Albany and lives in Gahanna with her husband, Rudy. They have three children, Brianna (Michael) Arnold, Hallie (Nick) Workman, and Ryan, all who attended Bishop Hartley High School. They love spending most of their free time with their three adorable grandchildren: Jonah, Ruthie, and Oliver
Both of my son-in-laws, Miss Buzenski, and Mrs. Meyer were all former students in my 2nd grade classroom.
