Cafe Newsletter and Menu for August 2021

Dear Families,

It was such a pleasure to be able to serve lunch this year to our students. We worked very hard to provide a quality lunch for our students to enjoy, while juggling multiple challenging components during the school year. This past year was a little crazy, but we look forward to what we will be able to offer this coming year.

In addition to our regular lunches listed on the monthly menu, our plan is to reopen our snack cart and offer our pre-made salads, milk, flavored water, fresh fruit, Velvet Ice Cream, and a variety of snacks. This year we will be adding Uncrustables and a “to-go” sandwich or wrap, depending on the day. While we want to continue to provide quality food, we realize our price for daily lunch will need to be adjusted to accommodate the rising prices from our vendors. I am sure all of you have experienced similar increases while shopping for your families. As the Cafeteria Manager, I will continue to do comparisons with the food/product vendors in our area, and consistently make sure we are getting the best product for the best price.

It has been several years since we raised our lunch prices to accommodate our increased expenses. For the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, daily lunch price will be $3.50. This is an increase of 50 cents. A la cart and doubles will remain $1.50. Large salads, veggies or meat (chef or diced chicken) will also be $3.50. Small veggie salads will be $2.00 each. Snack cart items and drinks will be between $.50 and $1.50 depending on the item. A price list will be posted on a cart with color coded baskets.
